HOW NEAR, HOW FAR?

[ DESCRIPTION ]                     Playing with perspective and the prompt “Zoom”, this 50ft long kite-tail is an experimental piece which aims to see how fast the eye can read text when flown at various distances and heights across the sky. By alternating orange and blue nylon squares stitched together and white screenprinted text that reads ‘How Near, How Far’ with clouds on the other side of the fabric, how can letters and forms be camouflaged or stand out in our environment? How can weather transform the reading experience of a simple phrase?
