RADICAL MODERNISMS
This publication focuses on Dan Friedman’s essay, Radical Modernisms, containing the preface and the first chapter where he reaffirms the idealistic early 20th-century tenets of modernism, while rejecting its compromise as corporate style and advocating a more expressive formal language and humane purpose. Combining the text with full bleed foldouts of contemporary magazine covers, the images highlight and emphasize Friedman’s notes on modernism in the 20th century.
